Emerging Young Lawyer Recognized for Contributions in Healthcare Law

Schyler B. Burney, an accomplished attorney at Bradley's Huntsville office, has been recognized with the prestigious American Bar Association's (ABA) Sixth Annual Emerging Young Lawyers in Healthcare award. This honor spotlights emerging legal professionals in the ABA’s Health Law Section for their exceptional contributions to health law. Burney received this accolade on April 10 during the Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law Conference held in Nashville.

Benjamin W. Hutton, Managing Partner of Bradley's Huntsville Office, expressed that Burney has made significant advancements in healthcare litigation while demonstrating unwavering dedication to client service. He commended her recognition by the ABA, acknowledging her leadership and influence in the legal healthcare field.

Burney's expertise encompasses trial and appellate litigation, focusing on healthcare-related cases, Medicare Advantage regulatory issues, government inquiries, and toxic tort disputes. She actively engages with the ABA's Health Law Section and contributes to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Development Council. Additionally, Burney serves on the Young Lawyers Board of the Huntsville Bar Association and the Alabama State Bar Association.

Burney was part of the second cohort of Momentum’s Upward leadership class in Huntsville in 2026, a program aimed at enhancing professional and personal development for women in early to mid-career stages. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law with a J.D. and holds a B.S., magna cum laude, from Auburn University. During law school, Burney served as an executive editor for the Mississippi Law Journal and worked as a student attorney at the MacArthur Justice Clinic.
