Influential Leaders in Healthcare and Finance to Address Bentley University Graduates
Sarah Iselin, President and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, is poised to deliver the keynote address at Bentley University's 107th undergraduate commencement in May. Simultaneously, Jon Bernstein, the New England regional president at PNC Bank, will address the McCallum Graduate School of Business at its 51st commencement.
Iselin has led significant initiatives, including the “Roadmap to Coverage,” which was instrumental in shaping Massachusetts’ landmark 2006 health reform law. This legislation paved the way for the state to achieve the nation's lowest uninsured rate and later inspired the Affordable Care Act. Her extensive experience includes roles such as president of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation and executive positions at other major healthcare organizations.
In addition to her professional achievements, Iselin plays a crucial role on several boards like the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. She holds a Master of Science in health policy and management from Harvard University, emphasizing her expertise in regulatory compliance and health policy management.
Jon Bernstein brings over 30 years of experience in financial services to his keynote role at Bentley. Joining PNC in 2019 after a successful tenure at Barclays, he has substantial expertise in financial transactions and risk management. His career includes transformative roles in private equity and corporate development.
Bernstein is actively engaged in the business community, chairing the Massachusetts Business Roundtable and contributing to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. His initiatives for early childhood policies underscore his commitment to impactful social change. Bernstein holds advanced degrees from esteemed institutions like Harvard College and the University of Cambridge.
Both Iselin and Bernstein were recognized as two of Boston Magazine’s 150 Most Influential Bostonians in 2025. As Bentley University prepares to honor their achievements, both speakers will receive honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degrees during the ceremonies on May 15 and 16, 2026. The graduates stand ready to enter the business world equipped with robust educational foundations in business and liberal arts.
