Conduit Holdings Strengthens Board with Strategic Appointments
Conduit Holdings has bolstered its board of directors with the appointment of Richard Lightowler, Peter Mullen, and Penny Shaw as non-executive directors. This strategic decision aims to enhance the company's governance structure, drawing from their extensive expertise in audit, risk management, and alternative capital as Conduit expands its reinsurance operations. These appointments emphasize a commitment to regulatory compliance and proactive governance.
Lightowler and Shaw have been assigned to the audit and remuneration committees, while Mullen will serve on the remuneration committee. Lightowler brings over 30 years of experience in re/insurance and professional services, with nearly two decades at KPMG Audit in Bermuda. He also serves as a non-executive director at Oakley Capital Investments Limited and Hansa Investment Company Limited, highlighting his extensive background in risk management.
With a career spanning more than 40 years in re/insurance and alternative risk management, Mullen's previous role as CEO of Artex Risk Solutions was notable for transforming the company into a global provider of alternative risk and capital solutions. His expertise in marketing, operational transformation, and mergers and acquisitions remains pivotal as he continues to be involved with Artex Risk Solutions and Gallagher Specialty.
Shaw, a seasoned actuary with over 30 years in the London Market, US, and international re/insurance sectors, enhances the board with skills in actuarial analysis, capital modeling, and regulatory engagement. Her past roles include group chief risk officer at Hanover Insurance Group and Hiscox Group, further underscoring her deep understanding of insurance industry regulations. Shaw also holds non-executive roles with AIG UK and Zurich Assurance.
Nicholas Shott, chair of Conduit Holdings, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointments, noting, "On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Penny, Peter, and Richard as non-executive directors. They each bring distinguished insurance industry experience and proven judgment that will be invaluable as Conduit continues to deliver sustainable and long-term value for shareholders. Their appointments underline our commitment to the highest standards of governance."
