AIA Launches ProsperLife Insurance Plan for Comprehensive Coverage
AIA Hong Kong & Macau has launched the ProsperLife Insurance Plan, a whole life coverage product designed to offer comprehensive life protection. This plan aims to assist policyholders across various life stages, including family initiation, child-rearing, home acquisition, and retirement planning. Key features include lifelong coverage, flexible death benefit settlement options, and the Beneficiary Flexi Option, allowing beneficiaries to customize their benefit receival terms based on age or specific health diagnoses.
Research by the Insurance Authority reveals a substantial mortality protection gap in Hong Kong, valued at approximately HKD 1.9 million per working adult. This gap highlights the potential financial challenges families may encounter in unforeseen events. The ProsperLife Insurance Plan provides a robust solution, enhanced through the Accidental Death Benefit Rider, which doubles the basic plan's assured sum in the event of accidental death under specified conditions.
The plan's premiums start at HKD 60 per day for a sum assured of HKD 1.9 million. Policyholders have the option to add coverage in areas such as accidents, medical emergencies, critical illnesses, and disabilities, tailoring the plan to personal needs that evolve over time.
Additionally, the ProsperLife Insurance Plan qualifies under The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited's Policy Reverse Mortgage Programme (PRMP), permitting policyholders to secure a reliable income stream and support retirement planning efforts. This financial flexibility reinforces retirement security, a crucial component of comprehensive risk management.

The Beneficiary Flexi Option is a pioneering feature in Hong Kong, enabling beneficiaries to adjust settlement preferences upon reaching a specified age or diagnosis of severe health conditions, ensuring timely financial assistance.
