Proposed GOP Medicaid Cuts Could Reduce Coverage for 349,000 Coloradans

Republican lawmakers, including Congressman Austin Scott and Gabe Evans, are proposing significant cuts to Medicaid funding to finance extensive tax breaks for wealthy individuals and large corporations.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has indicated that the proposed $880 billion in budget cuts cannot be achieved without reducing Medicaid coverage. This plan is expected to result in approximately 349,000 Coloradans losing health insurance, impacting vulnerable groups such as children, families, people with disabilities, older adults, nursing homes, and rural healthcare providers.
