Introducing Nationwide Indexed Universal Life Accumulator III
Nationwide has launched the Nationwide Indexed Universal Life Accumulator III, a permanent life insurance product designed to provide policyholders with both a tax-free death benefit and opportunities for long-term capital growth. This new offering enhances Nationwide's suite of indexed universal life insurance (IUL) options, emphasizing client control and flexibility.
The Accumulator III product presents a variety of indexed interest strategies to diversify client portfolios. Notably, this includes the new Nasdaq-100® Index interest strategies and six uncapped indexed interest strategies. Clients may also select from options like the S&P 500® Index, a Multi-Index Blend, and the BNP Paribas Global H-Factor® Index. Additionally, there's a fixed interest strategy with a guaranteed minimum rate.
To support clients in their first year of coverage, Nationwide offers an 8% Enhanced Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) rate. This feature allows policyholders to invest their initial premium in a fixed interest strategy for the first 12 months, earning an enhanced crediting rate before transitioning to indexed strategies. This method helps mitigate market timing risk.
A standout feature, the Performance Lock, allows policyholders to secure gains once their target is achieved, maintaining index value despite market downturns. This feature applies to all uncapped index strategies, enhancing predictability, client control, and product transparency.
Arny Martin, associate vice president of Life Product Management at Nationwide, stated, “Our goal with IUL Accumulator III is to bring customers a modern, accumulation-focused solution that makes long-term planning more intuitive. The combination of our 8% Enhanced DCA and Performance Lock gives people new tools to pursue growth and protect gains—especially in a rapidly changing market environment.”
