Joan Cleveland Joins TLHIGA Board for Texas Insurance Protection
Joan Cleveland has been selected by the Texas Commissioner of Insurance to join the board of the Texas Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association (TLHIGA), as announced by SWBC. Cleveland serves as the president and CEO of SWBC Life Insurance Company and holds an executive role at SWBC Property and Casualty Insurance Company. Her term on the TLHIGA board will run until September 30, 2031, underscoring her commitment to the insurance industry.
The TLHIGA is dedicated to ensuring that Texans maintain protected insurance policy benefits in the event of insurer insolvency. Cleveland expressed her enthusiasm: "I am honored to serve on the TLHIGA Board of Directors and support the organization’s essential work of safeguarding Texans." With over 30 years of industry experience, Cleveland focuses on strategic market development, product innovation, and enhancing customer experience at SWBC. She oversees distribution strategies in the company's life insurance operations. Additionally, Cleveland is a board member of the Life Insurers Council and the Consumer Credit Industry Association. Recognized among the Top 100 Women in Finance, she exemplifies leadership in the insurance field.
