Edna Ray "Butch" Harkey Crane, a trailblazing leader in the insurance industry, passed away at 95 in Caswell Beach, North Carolina, on March 12, 2026. Born on July 5, 1930, Crane was renowned for breaking barriers as the first woman to head the North and South Carolina Life Underwriters Association for St. Paul/Western Life Insurance Company.
