Solstice Innovations Launches Equinox to Modernize Insurance Solutions
Solstice Innovations, a technology firm specializing in property and casualty insurance software, has announced that its Equinox™ platform is now operational for clients under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and for those in the private flood sector. Founded by Travis Pine and Theresa "TJ" Johnston, the company has made significant strides in creating a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering that encompasses multiple types of insurance within a single infrastructure.
The core leadership at Solstice, having previously developed a leading NFIP platform, identified a gap in insurance systems as they were often limited to specific lines of business. This inspired the creation of a new platform that offers flexibility and control to insurance carriers and managing general agents (MGAs) over their software systems. According to Travis Pine, Co-Founder and CEO, the main goal was to develop a configurable, modular system that delivers capabilities without high IT service costs. This approach aligns Solstice's interests with those of their clients, aimed at mutual growth and innovation.
In 2025, Equinox debuted with its first private flood client and two NFIP clients. Building on this momentum, Solstice plans to integrate two new homeowners insurance clients based in Florida into their platform by 2026. "The launch validates our efforts to combine advanced technology with rigorous compliance without compromise," stated Co-Founder and President Theresa 'TJ' Johnston. She emphasized the platform's effectiveness in optimizing underwriting, claims, and customer service processes, resulting in cost and time efficiencies.
