Enhancing Fraud Prevention in Automotive Insurance

Axle, a leading provider of a universal API for insurance data, has partnered with Experian to enhance fraud prevention in the automotive sector. This collaboration integrates Axle's real-time automobile insurance verification with Experian's Fraud Protect platform, aiming to detect fraud types such as first-party, third-party, and synthetic identity fraud. It simultaneously ensures regulatory compliance and verifies insurance coverage, benefiting both dealers and lenders.

The integration streamlines the process for automotive dealerships and lenders to confirm insurance policy status, assess coverage limits, and align vehicle identification numbers (VINs) with lienholder information. This seamless, mobile-friendly workflow can be easily integrated into existing dealer systems, improving the user experience for consumers and facilitating effective risk management.

Highlighting insurance data's pivotal role in fraud prevention and regulatory compliance, Armaan Sikand, co-founder and COO of Axle, stated that their collaboration with Experian empowers dealerships and lenders to leverage insurance data as a vital fraud-prevention resource. This strategic partnership responds to the growing concerns in the automotive industry regarding the increasing complexity and frequency of fraudulent activities.

Robert Granados, president of Experian Automotive, emphasized the sophistication of modern fraud schemes exploiting digital retail channels. He remarked, "The future belongs to dealers who utilize advanced data and analytics to stay ahead of emerging risks." This alliance with Axle equips dealers with robust tools to assess critical identity and vehicle information, offering a comprehensive solution to mitigate fraud risk and safeguard financial interests in the automotive insurance industry.
