TAU Launches New Property & Casualty Division to Diversify Offerings

Transatlantic Underwriters (TAU), a Marietta, Georgia-based insurance brokerage firm, has recently launched a new Property and Casualty (P&C) division to broaden its market offerings beyond its traditional transportation focus. This strategic expansion includes six new lines of business, enhancing TAU's capabilities in areas such as Commercial General and Excess Liability, Commercial Property, Inland Marine, Builders Risk, and Garage. The move aims to cater to both existing clients and attract new ones, reflecting the company's commitment to growth and diversification in the evolving U.S. insurance landscape.

Leading the new division is Bernadette Flores, appointed as Senior Vice President of Property & Casualty. Bringing over 24 years of experience in the excess and surplus (E&S) P&C market, Flores is well-versed in managing high-risk sectors including contractors and hospitality risks. The expansion by TAU comes at a time when the U.S. P&C insurance industry continues to see dynamic changes in demand and underwriting conditions, exacerbated by economic factors like inflation and severe weather. The company plans to offer these services through non-admitted markets, targeting underserved areas within the P&C space.
