Missouri Man Sentenced for Staging Auto Accidents to Defraud Insurers

Adrian Peebles of Eastern Missouri recently concluded a fraudulent scheme in which he staged auto accidents to claim insurance payouts. Between September 2021 and January 2023, Peebles orchestrated accidents primarily in secluded areas to evade detection, subsequently claiming to be injured and accruing medical expenses from ER visits.

He insisted on receiving the insurance checks personally and retained all the funds, ultimately defrauding two insurance companies out of $107,951. Peebles, 32, pled guilty to mail fraud and has been sentenced to 18 months in prison, alongside a restitution payment equaling the total defrauded amount.
