Latham & Watkins Enhances M&A Practice with New Partner in NYC
Latham & Watkins LLP, known for navigating complex business and regulatory compliance issues, has bolstered its New York office by appointing Frank Monaco as a partner in its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Private Equity Practice. Monaco brings extensive expertise in reinsurance, focusing on transactions involving large reinsurance portfolios. His arrival is set to enhance Latham's capabilities in regulatory compliance and insurance industry transitions, including company restructurings and new platform developments.
Enhancing Regulatory and Industry Expertise
Marc Jaffe, the Office Managing Partner in New York, highlighted Monaco's addition: “Frank deepens our corporate insurance team with his sophisticated insights, enabling us to provide comprehensive advice throughout the insurance business lifecycle.” Monaco will work closely with insurers and reinsurers on diverse transactions such as mergers, reinsurance agreements, and reserve financing. His advisory role often involves regulatory compliance, including adherence to the Insurance Holding Company Act and licensing requirements.
Strategic Growth in Private Equity and Insurance
Monaco collaborates extensively with private equity, credit funds, and asset managers to establish and fund reinsurance platforms. Alex Kelly, Global Co-Chair of the M&A and Private Equity Practice, emphasized the value of Monaco’s contributions: “Frank's experience complements our leading M&A capabilities, enhancing our advisory services for corporate, private equity, and financial institution clients on significant matters.”
After his tenure at Clifford Chance, Monaco joins Latham & Watkins with a JD from Fordham University School of Law and a BA from Trinity College. His addition represents the third partner joining Latham’s New York M&A practice this January, following Matthew Eisler and Russell Hedman's recent hires.
