SiriusPoint has named John Sakakeeny as Chief Underwriting Officer for its North America Property and Casualty Insurance sector, taking effect on February 2, 2026. His role involves guiding underwriting and program management teams to boost technical underwriting acumen and achieve profitable growth in the competitive insurance industry.

Sakakeeny will report to both Patrick Charles, Head of North America Insurance, and Anthony Shapella, Group Chief Underwriting Officer. With 20 years in the industry and his recent position as VP and Head of Casualty Product at The Hartford, Sakakeeny brings a wealth of experience to SiriusPoint. This experience will be crucial in navigating regulatory compliance requirements and advancing risk management strategies.
