Allianz Divests Stake in Bajaj Allianz for €2.6 Billion

Allianz SE (ALIZY), a major German financial services company, has entered into an agreement to divest its 26% stake in two joint ventures in India - Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company - to the Bajaj Group for approximately 2.6 billion euros. The sale reflects Allianz's strategy to explore new opportunities in the Indian market, emphasizing its commitment to growth in this region.
Following the sale, Allianz intends to use the proceeds to invest in new initiatives in India, strengthening its operational and investment capabilities in the country. However, the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals, which may take several months to finalize. Upon completion, Allianz will cease to be a promoter of the joint ventures, resulting in the termination of the associated joint venture agreements with Bajaj Finserv Ltd.
