Jerry Bump Becomes Acting Insurance Commissioner of Hawai‘i
Jerry Bump has been appointed as acting insurance commissioner for the state of Hawai‘i's Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) Insurance Division, following the retirement of Gordon Ito after 31 years of service. Bump, who has been part of the Hawai‘i Insurance Division since 2008, previously served as Chief Deputy Insurance Commissioner and has experience in the insurance and accounting sectors.
In his new role, Bump will oversee the insurance industry in Hawai‘i, which includes regulation of companies, agents, self-insurers, and captives. He aims to promote collaboration with industry professionals and maintain trust within the insurance regulatory framework. DCCA Director Nadine Ando expressed confidence in Bump's leadership to uphold regulatory standards and serve the state's residents.
