Baldwin Group Expands Mid-Atlantic Presence through Capstone Acquisition

Baldwin Group Acquires Capstone Group to Enhance Mid-Atlantic Presence

The Baldwin Group has announced the acquisition of Capstone Group, an independent brokerage located in Philadelphia, to expand its Mid-Atlantic footprint and enhance its offerings across diverse insurance lines. While the financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, this acquisition underscores Baldwin's commitment to broadening its service capabilities in the region.

Founded in 2013, Capstone operates as a comprehensive brokerage firm specializing in risk management, group health, ancillary benefits, and property and casualty insurance. Known for its client-focused approach and robust industry growth, Capstone caters to key sectors such as healthcare, finance, construction, and technology. This acquisition aligns with Baldwin’s strategy to integrate personalized client service with a scalable operational infrastructure, thereby improving its capacity to meet complex client needs in both personal and commercial insurance markets.

Dan Galbraith, President and CEO of Baldwin’s retail brokerage operations, noted the synergistic values of the two firms. "Capstone's holistic approach to risk management and their commitment to client success mirrors our own," he stated. "Together, we are poised to deliver even greater value to our clients while maintaining the extraordinary culture that Capstone has cultivated over the years." Kevin Fox, Managing Partner at Capstone, added that the partnership will enable Capstone to leverage Baldwin's extensive resources, supporting a strategic advisory role in insurance rather than a transactional one.

This acquisition highlights a broader trend of consolidation within the insurance brokerage industry, where blending local expertise with national and global capabilities is increasingly vital. Earlier, Baldwin merged with CAC Group, known for its middle-market brokerage proficiency and specialty lines, further reinforcing Baldwin's strengths in commercial and specialty insurance. This strategic move integrates CAC's middle-market expertise into Baldwin's service platform, reflecting an industry shift towards comprehensive risk management and regulatory compliance solutions.
