Humana Announces Leadership Changes in Medicare Advantage and Insurance Segments
Humana Inc. announced the planned retirement of George Renaudin, Insurance Segment President, by the third quarter of 2026 after a 29-year tenure. Renaudin was instrumental in the growth and establishment of Humana's Medicare Advantage and Medicaid programs, contributing significantly to the company's value-based care strategy and sustained membership growth. To streamline operations, Humana is creating a new role, President of Medicare Advantage, and has appointed Aaron Martin to this position starting January 2026. Martin will initially report to both Renaudin and Humana's CEO, Jim Rechtin, before assuming the full duties of Insurance Segment President upon Renaudin's retirement. John Barger, currently President of Medicaid and Dual Eligible programs at Humana, will be promoted to President of Medicare Advantage, reporting to Martin. Barger has over 25 years of experience within Humana, including significant involvement in Medicare Advantage. Post-retirement, Renaudin will serve as a strategic advisor during the transition period. Aaron Martin brings a background in technology-driven healthcare innovation from Amazon and Providence, where he focused on enhancing consumer engagement and advancing telehealth and chronic condition management. These leadership transitions reflect Humana’s commitment to operational excellence and strategy continuity in its insurance segment, aiming to enhance member services and maintain strong market positioning in the Medicare Advantage and Medicaid sectors.
