Chubb and QBE Announce Key Leadership Appointments in Property and Casualty

Chubb has appointed Aaron Shead as executive vice president and head of Property for its Overseas General Insurance (COG) division. Shead will lead the growth and profitability of COG's property portfolios, including fire, terrorism, power, and energy, while managing major property accounts. With over 25 years of industry experience across multiple regions including the UK, Asia, and Bermuda, Shead previously served as head of Fire for COG. This appointment reflects Chubb's strategic focus on enhancing its property insurance offerings and expanding global market leadership.\n\nIn parallel, QBE has strengthened its UK Casualty team by hiring Sharon Smallridge as portfolio manager for its London-based major client portfolio. Smallridge brings more than 35 years of insurance expertise in claims and underwriting, most recently as general liability manager at AIG. Her addition follows QBE's recent hire of Adrian Browne as director of Underwriting for UK Casualty, signaling ongoing investment in senior leadership for its UK casualty operations.\n\nQBE's UK Casualty team is positioned to grow its multinational client base with this bolstered leadership. As part of QBE Insurance Group, its European operations provide a broad range of products including property, casualty, financial lines, marine, and energy insurance. Both Chubb and QBE's leadership changes highlight the companies' efforts to enhance operational capabilities and customer solutions in competitive segments of the commercial insurance market.
