CMS Seeks Input on 2027 Medicare Advantage, Part D, and Cost Plan Regulatory Updates

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a Request for Information (RFI) on November 28, 2025, regarding proposed regulatory revisions for the Medicare Advantage (Part C), Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit (Part D), and Medicare Cost Plan programs. The proposed changes aim to improve program operations for the 2027 contract year by updating policies on Star Ratings, marketing and communications, drug coverage, enrollment processes, and special needs plans, as well as codifying existing guidelines. The RFI seeks input to streamline regulations and reduce administrative burdens for providers, suppliers, beneficiaries, and stakeholders involved in Medicare programs. Comments on the proposed changes are due by January 26, 2026.
