Westfield and Mosaic Boost Leadership to Drive Tech and FinPro Growth

Westfield, a U.S.-based property and casualty insurer, has appointed Lloyd Scholz as its new enterprise Chief Information Officer. Scholz will oversee the advancement of technology, data, and analytics across Westfield's global P&C operations, reporting directly to CEO Ed Largent. Scholz brings over 25 years of technology leadership experience in financial services and insurance, including senior roles at Markel and Capital One, with expertise in data engineering, analytics platforms, cloud strategy, and enterprise transformation. Separately, Mosaic Insurance, a Bermuda-headquartered specialty insurer, has enhanced its leadership team for its financial institutions and professional liability business lines as it prepares to expand in North America. Sachin Warty, a seasoned U.S.-based finpro executive, has been named global head of financial institutions & professional liability. Reporting to Warty are Francesca Harland and Jacqueline Hall-Shaw, who will lead international professional liability and financial institutions respectively. Mosaic also restructured other leadership roles focused on client and broker engagement internationally, with former financial institutions head Tom Dilley and deputy active underwriter Danny Clack taking enhanced responsibilities while maintaining underwriting functions. Warty brings a strong background with five years co-leading the U.S. financial institutions business at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and prior underwriting roles at major carriers. These leadership changes reflect ongoing strategic initiatives to leverage technology and experienced management to support growth, operational efficiency, and enhanced service delivery in the competitive property and casualty and specialty insurance markets. Both Westfield and Mosaic are positioning to capitalize on evolving risk landscapes and client needs through strengthened technology platforms and focused product line expansion. Industry watchers should note the emphasis on global technology capability, data analytics, and cloud strategy in Westfield's appointment, signaling a prioritization of digital transformation. Meanwhile, Mosaic's North American growth strategy for finpro lines highlights the increasing importance of specialized liability products and client engagement models amidst regulatory and market complexities. Overall, these developments underscore a broader insurance sector trend toward integrating advanced technology leadership with targeted market expansion and client-focused organizational design across established and emerging insurance sectors.
