Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuity (MYGA) Rate Change

Effective October 1 for RetireMax Secure and Green Mountain Freedom 5 (NY).

 

We will make the following annuity rate changes, effective Tuesday, October 1.

New features launched August 24.

Starting August 24, more clients are now able to benefit from locking in a guaranteed interest rate with RetireMax Secure (not available in NY). They also have more options than ever before.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Minimum deposit of $25,000 means more clients can buy this MYGA
  • Choice of 3-year or 5-year rate guarantee period
  • Market Value Adjustment (MVA) options that offer a higher rate (Learn about MVA)
  • Rate banding, with a higher rate starting at $100,000
  • 60-day rate lock instead of a 90-day rate lock

Underwriting Guideline Updates

Effective August 1, we have Underwriting Guideline updates!

  • EKG age/amt – we eliminated the need for EKGs between ages 51-69 at face amounts of $5,000,001 to $10,000,000.  This means EKGs are needed on all 70 year olds and older, and face amounts $10,000,001 and greater.
  • Private aviation – applicants may now be considered for better than standard rate classes.

Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuity (MYGA) Rate Change

Effective 07/17/24

Due to a changing interest rate environment, the following change takes effect on Wednesday, July 17:

  • RetireMax Secure 5 decreases from 5.40% to 5.15%. 

Rate Lock applies.

Green Mountain Freedom 5 NY remains unchanged at 5.00%
