This memo is to announce that the FLIC transaction will close later this month. What this specifically means is:

• Any inforce policies will transfer to one of our other company entities; and
• We will no longer issue business under the charter of Family Life, including Health and Life products. As of March 14^th, at the close of business, we can no longer issue policies under the FLIC charter.

 

The biggest short-term impact will be on our Term Life product. We do not yet have state approvals for this product; however, a Final Expense product is available within the ManhattanLife family of companies and is available in 20 states. Most of the health business has been and will continue to be sold under our ManhattanLife Insurance and Annuity (MLIAC) charter. Seven states where we have sold FLIC health products and how product transitions or availability look, are provided below. Our ManhattanLife Direct 2.0 enrollment platform will be updated to reflect the appropriate state availability.
