UHC Commission & Override Update – Effective July 1, 2025

UnitedHealthcare (UHC) has announced significant changes to both agent commission and override structures, effective July 1, 2025. Several Medicare Advantage plans will no longer offer agent commissions. Additionally, override rates on NON-SNP PPO plans will be reduced for new sales and renewals.

 

Commissions Jun 24, 2025
As of July 1, 2025, an Annual 61-day Birthday Enrollment period will be implemented in Virginia that impacts AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans from UnitedHealthcare®.

Residents of Virginia may replace their current Medicare Supplement plan with a Medicare Supplement plan with the same benefits (i.e., same letter plan) * and will not be underwritten.

To qualify,
  • Applicant must be replacing their current Medicare Supplement plan with another Medicare Supplement plan with the same benefits (i.e., same letter plan)* 
  • Applicant must provide proof of their current Medicare Supplement plan, including the carrier and plan code.                                
  • UnitedHealthcare must receive their application on their birthday or during the following 60 days.
Virginia residents who are enrolled in an AARP Medicare Supplement plan will be notified before their Birthday Enrollment Period, annually, via mail with a postcard.

2025 Wisconsin rate information is now available for AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans insured by UnitedHealthcare® Insurance Company (UHIC).

Effective June 1, 2025, the rates in Wisconsin will change. Please click on the buttons in the attached communication to view rates for new enrollees with initial plan effective dates of June 1, 2025 to May 1, 2026, or rate change percentages.


Enrollment Discount Update
For plan effective dates of June 1, 2025, and later, the enrollment discount will be available to individuals who are age 65 to 79 on their plan effective date and they qualify for Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment, qualify for Guaranteed Issue or are underwritten and do not have any medical conditions listed on the application.
