 April 1 Dental Rate Adjustment Notice and +Updated Dental Application Booklets (March 1 changes)

This memo covers two important updates, please review both sections below so you are fully prepared for customer conversations and new business processing.

SECTION 1 - Effective April 1, 2026 Dental Rate Adjustments for:

Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia and Wyoming.

We recently reviewed overall claim costs and determined higher than projected costs make it necessary for a premium increase to ensure we can continue delivering strong benefits, exclusive features and reliable service to our clients. These increases are only on our Premier Plan.

At present, notices are being sent to owners of Physicians Mutual P154 Option 4 (Premier Plan only) policies informing them of the upcoming 5% rate change for TN, 7% for CT, 10% for IN, KY and MD, 15% for IA and IL, 20% for AR, KS, SD, and WY and 23.8% for CO, MI and OR that will be effective 4/1/2026.

Notices are being sent to owners of Physicians Mutual C254 Option 4 (Premier Plan only) policies informing them of the 20% increase for ID and 23.8% for VA effective 4/1/2026.

As a reminder, agents may access the Rate Changes section in FACI to view the rate change date (Received Date), the new premium amount, the current payment mode, state and the dates the rate change letter is due and when it was sent.

SECTION 2 -

Updated Dental app booklets reflecting the March 1 rate adjustments for:
Arizona, Hawaii, Nebraska, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin

Due to the March 1 rate adjustment for Dental in the above states, the following forms have been
revised and must be used effective March 1, 2026:

• The front cover of the Application Booklet has been updated to -0326 revision date
• Rate Chart – Rev 0326

As a reminder:

• Paper application booklets are only needed if the agent is meeting in person with the applicant and not using the remote electronic application.

Physicians Mutual will be moving our scheduled 1/1/26 rate increases up to 9/1/25 in Texas and 10/1/25 in several other states.

Here are some important updates and resources to support your endeavors. Please take a moment to review the following:

1. News You Can Use: The Ins and Outs of Medicare’s Prescription Payment Plan-M3P will reduce monthly out-of-pocket costs for enrollees, it requires plan sponsors to cover all up-front costs until payments are collected. It's crucial to keep up-to-date of the latest Medicare updates!
2. Announcement New Agent Quoting Software - The new quoting software can be used on windows-based computers as well as Apple and Android devices. The training manuel is attached and list of live training opportunities listed below.

Mississippi and Solicitation of Medicare Over the Phone Changes

Through House Bill 1350, the Mississippi Legislature has made changes to their Telephone Solicitation Act and the Insurance Code surrounding what a Medicare Supplement agent can and cannot do as it relates to the sale of Medicare Supplement.

First, as it relates to cold call prospecting, agents cannot initiate a telephone conversation for the sole purpose of soliciting the purchase of a Medicare Supplement policy.  However, agents can initiate a call for the purpose of soliciting a different product (e.g. dental), and then pivot to Medicare Supplement after discussing the other product.

Second, if a customer reaches out to discuss Medicare Supplement in response to a lead, television ad, direct mail etc., agents may call and immediately discuss Medicare Supplement.

These rules are effective immediately. Please contact your Sales Director or Broker Relationship Manager with any questions you may have.
